Utility blade with Drop Point profile
The Benchmade 585-03 Mini Barrage has a classic utility drop-point blade with a flat grind. The blade is made of American CPM-S30V stainless steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. The shape of the blade, the type of grind and the quality of the steel used mean that the blade maintains excellent working sharpness for a long time and has outstanding cutting properties. The blade, with a usable drop-point profile, is finished with a satin (polishing) technique. The matte blade is easier to clean and does not reflect light. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.5 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Fold-out assist and thumb stud
The blade can be conveniently and quickly unfolded with one hand by means of a two-sided peg, which is convenient for both right- and left-handed people . The opening process is made easier and faster by the assist mechanism . A gentle lift of the double-sided peg activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade. Such functionality makes the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Double blade protection
Benchmade's flagship mechanism, the double-sided Axis-lock, valued for its great mechanical strength, resistance to dirt and convenient operation for right- and left-handed users, is responsible for work safety. The knife also features an additional locking mechanism, which prevents accidental folding and unfolding of the blade during handling. The slide of the second safety mechanism is located on the back of the handle.
Comfortable handle with Richlite liners
The knife has contoured liners made of Richlite laminate, which is produced from recycled resin infused paper and natural pulp. The contoured shape, combined with finger cutouts and slanted grooving, provides the knife with excellent grip and comfort. The knife's construction is reinforced by solid 420 steel inserts (liners).
Convertible clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a standard clip that can be mounted on either side of the handle.
