The Ortles Screw Carabiner is a robust, extremely lightweight, and versatile screwgate carabiner. This locking carabiner is ideal for creating chain connections, as a girth hitch for force distribution (South Tyrolean anchor), or as a self-belay carabiner at anchor points. The carabiner's thoughtful design features a tapered Keylock nose that prevents snagging on the rope or slings. Simultaneously, the carabiner has a large gate opening that facilitates tying clove hitches and clipping/unclipping. The optimized aluminum construction allows for maximum material utilization, saving weight and resources while maintaining the highest safety standards. The wide inner bearing surface ensures ideal rope handling and protects your gear. An additional small hole in the nose allows for the removal of ice, snow, or dirt.
