The Benchmade 551-S30V has a usable drop-point blade with a flat grind. The blade is made of American CPM-S30V stainless steel hardened to 58-60 HRC.
The shape of the head, the type of grind and the quality of the steel used make the blade maintain excellent working sharpness for a long time and have outstanding cutting properties. The double-sided peg allows right- and left-handed people to unfold the blade comfortably with one hand.
A section of the blade's back has been raised and grooved, thus creating a stable point of support for the fingers during precise blade guidance.
