The Benchmade 560BK-1 Freek is a popular knife model that was made for the first time from two extremely durable materials, the legendary CPM-M4 steel and G10 laminate.
Benchmade 560BK Freek has a drop-point blade with a perfectly selected usable length of 91 mm. The high, flat-cut blade has been protected against external factors with a hard ceramic Cerakote coating, which is very resistant to abrasion and scratching.
The new 560BK model has a blade made of high-carbon CPM-M4 tool steel, hardened to a hardness of 62-64 HRC. Due to the high content of molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten, the high level of carbon has been balanced, which results in excellent sharpness and great hardness.
Sharpening such steel is difficult and time-consuming, you should also remember to regularly care for the blade. In return, however, the user receives a tool whose aggressive cutting and extremely long maintenance of the working sharpness perfectly compensate for the aforementioned inconveniences.
A double-sided pin allows right and left-handed people to quickly unfold the blade with one hand. The lock used is, of course, Axis-lock, invariably considered one of the strongest and comfortable mechanisms used in folding knives.
The ramp placed on the spine of the blade provides some support for the thumb while operating the knife. The profiled cladding is made of black and gray G10 laminate, which has been milled to increase grip and grip.
The uniqueness of this model is emphasized by red liners and polished spacer sleeves in the same color. A steel clip is attached to the handle that can be moved to the other side (left / right).
