The Benchmade 945BK-1 Mini Osborne is the long-awaited mini version of the iconic edc knife, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
The Osborne 940 knife designed by Warren Osborne is without one of the most popular edc knives in the world. It owes its success to a light and functional design and the use of high-quality materials that guarantee durability and operational reliability.
The Benchmade 945BK-1 Mini Osborne has retained the functionality and unique style of the iconic 940 model, but thanks to its reduced size, it is much more comfortable and practical in everyday use.
Premium grade steel
The 74 mm long blade is made of the elite CPM-S30V stainless steel. S30V powder steel by Crucible Industries is hardened to an optimal hardness of 58-60 HRC, therefore it maintains high sharpness for a long time, has high mechanical strength, and is also resistant to corrosion.
Due to the high content of vanadium carbides, the steel is distinguished by high toughness and abrasion resistance, as well as excellent cutting properties. The blade is covered with a layer of black Teflon, which protects the blade from minor scratches.
When choosing a hard steel knife, you should get a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
Utility blade
The knife has a blade with a reverse-tanto profile with a distinct false blade reducing the weight of the blade. Thanks to the use of a durable point, high flat cut and a cutting edge with a slightly rounded line, the knife penetrates easily and has good cutting properties.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.6 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The blade can be conveniently and quickly unfolded with one hand using a double-sided pin, which is convenient for right and left-handed people.
Reliable lock
The flagship Benchmade mechanism, a double-sided Axis-lock blockade, is responsible for work safety, valued for its great mechanical strength, resistance to dirt and ease of use for right and left-handed users.
Robust handle
The knife has profiled cladding made of G10 composite with a characteristic scaly surface, which ensures high grip and reliable operation of the knives. The profile of the handle at the base of the blade is wider, which means that the hand will not slip onto the blade while working.
The handle is strengthened by steel inserts and distance sleeves anodized in blue, contrasting with the black color of the knife. The linings are complemented by an elastic clip that allows you to conveniently carry the knife in a pocket or on a belt.
The clip can be attached to both the left and right side of the handle.
